About Us

   Porta Service began in 1971 when Ted Wahlen purchased a "Mr. Porta" franchise. Within a few years, the parent company went out of business and Ted was left operating on his own with the help of his oldest son Kurt. In 1993 Ted retired and Kurt took over Porta Service, with the help of his brother, Brent, who has been working with us since 1974.

   In 1995, Kurt's oldest son, Kurt Jr. started working part time through high school and college. After receiving his BBA from UW-Milwaukee, Kurt Jr. came on full time and is now part owner. Kurt's other son, James, who has been working on and off for Porta Service since 1996, has now joined us full time after gaining experience from a Fortune 500 company. He received his business degree from UW-La Crosse.

   As you can see, we truly are a family owned and operated company.

   Our success has been the result of providing the highest level of quality and dependable service at a fair price.

   We currently have a number of employees, each of whom has several years of experience. We have six trucks set up with hot, high pressure washing equipment, three of which are totally self contained and carry their own water. This enables us the flexibility of handling a variety of cleaning projects in a timely manner.

   We are extremely knowledgeable about our industry. We understand the mechanics of pressure washing and the chemistry behind our cleaning agents. We are familiar with environmental concerns and have the expertise and special equipment to provide solutions.
